Montgomery County has suspended all renewable energy credits as of Tuesday's County Council meeting. Their current backlog is $2.5 million which represents about 6 years of credits.

To quote the VP of the Council, Roger Berliner, demand has exceeded the budgeted amount. Budget was $400,000 for 2011.

The program will be suspended until the backlog is cleared and even then, they will review the need for it.


This is just for Montgomery County only. Other Maryland counties still have great
programs in place. If you live in Harford County, Anne Arundel or Prince George's,
you may be eligible for property tax credits in addision to state and federal tax credits.
